Previously: Session 062 Next: Session 064
- The current date is 27th Myhros, 2272 GE.
- There's a pink-skinned Tiefling that recognizes Trenia and goes, "Firebird? I thought you were on leave." This is Captain Rayna Pike.
- Seresia bluffs that she's tasked to become more familiar with the military operations.
- A klaxon suddenly goes off, alerting that people are arriving in the planeway. Two collosal golems land directly on the pad.
- The first is clearly a brawler with telekinetic lancers on her arms. XPF-4 Weregild, piloted by Captain Trish Petrokovas.
- The other is slimmer with a massive cannon in its left arm and has a multi-layered array of missile launchers in the shoulder. A dual-phase microphasic shield generator protects the body with electricity arcing off of it. XPF-2 Herald of Zotz, piloted by Captain Altus Mercio.
- Each of them is ~60' tall.
- Hisses of steam and waves of risidual magic radiate off of them.
- We go in and walk by the gantries of the golem maintenance bays. There's bays for Herald, Weregild, XPF-7 Midnight Sun, and finally, XPF-9X Phoenixbane.
- Trenia authenticates successfully with F-9X as a part of anti-shapeshifting protocols.
- Robin has been scribbling through notes.
- From one of the golems emerges a grizzled orc man who looks quite a bit like Arcturius; he stays at a distance after descending the gantry.
- Out of the other golem emerges a woman named Trish Petrakovas "Archangel" who asks if Trenia wants to get drinks later to celebrate her not getting a promotion.
- XPF-4 puts out some gross necrotic vibes that discomfort Val.
- Rayna leads us along to the Major's offices - Major Paxton Breakers. He's a short goliath - but huge by human standards.
- He sweeps some papers off of the desk, discussing defensive operations in demiplane D76-B that was coming under assault by elementals from the Plane of Fire, discussing deployment of golems as an intervention measure. Dispatch for XPF-2 and XPF-4. The request was for XPF-9 but it was denied as the pilot was unavailable.
- Paxton reports that the situation isn't perfect; some of the best mechanics in the fleet but supplies are tight. They have about enough spare for a complete rebuild of one golem.
- The Ordained are a paramilitary religious organization that typically hunt down the sort of threats that the military aren't prepared to deal with.
- The rest of the party are here as a retinue for the Ordained to inspect proceedings and verify.
- There's a knock on the door by a young, slightly clumsy-looking man. He looks shocked that there's someone else here and backs out, but we wave him in to speak.
- He asks the major's permission to take the sensors offline to investigate why some of them reported a Class-3 incursion when we came through the portal and then departs.
- The major escorts us to a confidential briefing room and then ducks out to have an assistant fetch the paperwork.
- If we activate the portal from this side, it would solidify the scar. If we draw from the rift-blown generators, it'd cause massive damage. We could wait in the Stasis field, but that's extremely risky.
- We could also go visit Kuri. Oh boy.
- Apparently the major has other guests now too. We're so fucked.
- The base AI won't disclose the major's location. We're so fucked.
- The major is with some guy in a grey suit, black hair, cut on his face.
- We attempt to find where they went.
- We find Felix, one of Meluan's advisors and a friend of Kathika. He's supposed to be at the palace, but he's in the hangar bay instead.
- He asks to speak to Kathika more privately.
- Trenia and Rayna climb F-9's gantry to talk.
- Felix escorts Kathika by the wrist to someplace a little more private to talk.
- Felix apparently has made some timeskips as well. Oh boy.
- Felix Custer, Contingency.
- Felix knows that the world ends in 102 days.
- Val teleports her and Felix down into a bunker where the Major and a Cinnan special operative named Bainholm Te'Solsa are hiding.
- He was pretending to be Contingency.
- The Major's already been convinced that Trenia's a monster.
- Felix takes Bainholm's fake Contingency badge and clicks a timepiece before vanishing.
- Major Breaker teleports in a bunch of soldiers.
- Meanwhile, Trenia was filling Rayna in with a lot of Emotion.
- Trenia hops into F-9 and F-9 shuts down her rift-blown generator of her own free will.
- Trenia comms with F-7 and transmits a plan for pilot survival of Rayna.
- Trenia establishes a plan to send golem parts to the East Solsa Rapid Response Depot.
- Val bails out to her mom's house via plane shift.
- Kuri's abode is clearly meant for one person and not two. It looks like someone started decorating and then gave up.
- Val decides to make dinner for Kuri in the meantime.
- Trenia leads the rest of the party to "the Weather Office."
- Val broke off a table leg from the war room as the means to planeshift back later.
- Bech sent some MPs in the totally wrong direction for us.
- "The Weather Office" is a pilot bar.
- Altus is gonna run interference for us.
- We get some drinks.
- Trish brings up Demiplane 76 again which is the third time it's been mentioned. There was an offensive by the fire elementals and then they suddenly turned tail and ran.
- We get the benefits of a short rest so Val was able to cast contact other plane to chat with Kathika about what happened in the bunker.
- Dixie summons 16 pixies and 8 wolves to cause chaos throughout the base.
- We stealth up and head through the base.
- Nyn fucks up the engine of F-7 to make it not move properly and get the order to stand down.
- We head to the Major's office to try and find the method to get down to the bunker. In the process, Seresia distracts some soldiers by throwing a fire extinguisher against the opposite wall with telekinesis.
- We loot the major's office disregarding the alarm spells.
- We take the category-3 incursion sheet of paper and find the teleportation button to get down into the bunker, heading down there.
- Kathika threatens Cass which brings Val back, angry. She leaves a note for her mother.
- They've decided to send F-2 through the planeway instead.
- Pike intercepts, Trish refuses to make Pike stand down.
- Trenia throws herself into F-9 and cuts her hand with the phoenix talon, attempting to start her back up.
- Zahira emerges through the planeway and goes, "Hello. I need to speak to your Captain Winters."
